About

A quick disclaimer regarding the name of the business: I do have a kitchen. All meals are prepared in a rented, commercial kitchen. The name just refers to the fact that I am not associated with any restaurant in town.

In the 20 years I’ve spent in the restaurant business,  I’ve had the good fortune  to train at an award winning Vietnamese Thai Restaurant, perfect my margaritas and mole at an authentic regional Mexican cuisine restaurant, and been cursed at in four languages by an egomaniacal chef at a two Michelin star French restaurant. I have held every position in the business, from dishwasher to General Manager, and been certified by the National Restaurant Association in food safety. The restaurant business has given me the opportunity to meet people like Julia Child, William Shatner, Jane Seymour, Mike Farrell, Dusty Baker, Antonio Villaregosa, Garrison Keillor, my wife (a personal favorite), Fleetwood Mac, Alan Arkin,  and Chick Hearn (ask a Laker fan).

My philosophy on food is not particularly straightforward. As a Minnesotan, I appreciate bars and hotdish.  As an alumnus of a 2 Michelin star restaurant, I get upset when my soufflé falls. I believe overuse of bacon is cheating and under-salting is self-righteous. Fat and salt make almost everything better, while green bell pepper will destroy any dish just by being in the room.   Better ingredients make better food, but a great chef can make a fabulous meal out of whatever is in your fridge.  My goal is to make food you will love, while providing you with more time to spend with family and friends.

My name is Chad Hennerman, and I look forward to cooking for you.

  • On behalf of Interfaith Good Samaritan thank you for bringing in the salad kits. I didn’t personally see them but heard they were a hit. Fresh is always a welcome addition. Our shelves are full and overflowing now thanks to you and our wonderful community. We do appreciate it.

  • I was so pleased to find a local caterer with such great service and awesome food. Chad was so easy to work with. He catered our work Christmas party for appox. 70 people. He was timely in his set-up and clean-up. Would 100% suggest him for your next event and am likely to use him again in the future. Thanks again!
